After multiple prototypes, production units, and complete redesigns it's finally here:
Bert is my introduction to the community as a maker; it is 3d printed out of polymax PLA which offers a combination of stiffness and good shock absorption. Embedded in the plastic are steel rods and pins that make it stiffer, heavier and provide a balance that feels closer to a full metal balisong. The puzzled chanwich construction offers great rigidity while maintaining optimal printing quality. It runs on race washers with ceramic bearings, which offer great tolerances for a plastic balisong. Grooves and jimping in the handles add even more grip than the plastic provides on its own.
Most people misjudge Bert for only being a fun and lighthearted balisong because of his googly eyes and crooked mouth, meanwhile under the hood it actually packs some serious performance.

History:
Bert is the second design that I ever made under the jappiebalisong name.
Everything that I learned in my first year of designing was put into the design, even if that meant that it had to undergo a complete redesign. This is my way of trying to “produce” a European made balisong that provides a lot for its price.
